MIRI: A woman had no idea that the loud noise made by her chickens was indicating the presence of two unidentified men invading her home at Senadin here early yesterday morning.
In the incident that occurred at around 2.30am, the victim woke up from sleep upon hearing a loud noise from her chickens before going for inspection and was shocked to see two men in suspicious condition.
According to sources, the victim then screamed at the two men causing them to panic and escaped.
“The victim then made further examination and found out six chickens inside the chicken coop were missing believed to have been stolen by the two men,” he said.
He said the criminals were believed to have trespassed into the victim’s residential area by cutting off the fence.
Meanwhile, in a separate incident, a family lost more than RM2,000 worth of items after their residence in Senadin was broken into on Thursday night.
The incident was only realised by the family after returning home about 8 pm.
Sources said the family was surprised to find that their main door was open.
“Once inside the house, they were shocked to find that items in the house were scattered by the criminals,” he said.
He said upon inspections the owner found several valuable items including television, fan and a number of funds were missing believed to have been taken by criminals.
Following the incident, a report was lodged at a nearby police station for further action.
