LUNDU: A woman in her 30s, believed to have gone missing on Sunday night, was found by local villagers yesterday afternoon.

According to early reports, the local fire and rescue station first received a call from the police regarding a woman suspected to have gone missing in the Serayan Baru forest, Sematan around 10.20pm.

The woman had gone out from her house and into the forest on Sunday around 3pm.

When she did not return home, the village chief proceeded to make a police report at 9pm. 

Yesterday, the search and rescue team moved to her last known location around 7.45am, with the search radius divided into four corners in a 2km radius.

However, she was found safe around 10.10am by villagers assisting in the operation.

The woman was then brought to the Bomba Control Post and given food while waiting for the medical team to give her a check-up.
