SIBU: A 72-year-old man was robbed by a woman while walking alone at Jalan Bengkel, here about 1.30pm today.
Sibu district police chief ACP Stanley Jonathan Ringgit said the incident happened when the victim had just come out of a lottery shop.
“While he was flipping through the lottery tickets he bought from the shop and about to put the paper in his wallet, a woman suddenly came from behind and snatched his wallet,” he said in a statement.
Among the items lost include identification card, driving licence, BSN bank card, ATM (army) Retirement Card and RM600 cash.
Stanley said the victim could not do anything as the incident happened so fast and the victim was too old to chase the female suspect.
“And the closed circuit television camera (CCTV) installed in front of the shop also does not work.
“The case is being investigated under Section 392 for robbery,” he added.
