MARUDI: A 46-year-old woman from Piasau Utara Miri suffered losses amounting to RM1,900 when her house at Kampung Muhibbah Beluru Atas Bakong was broken into by burglar/burglars.
She found out the break-in incident at around 8am on last 14 March when she returned home and reaised that the window panes at the back of her house had been removed in the burglary as an entry to the house.
Among the missing items were two units of Petronas gas tank worth RM300; one unit of lawn mower worth RM1,200; one unit of portable fan worth RM180; one unit of canopy worth RM250 and other items.
The victim, Umi Kalsum Bte Abdullah @ Dayang Madang made a police report on the incident.
Subsequent to the police report, a police team led by Sergeant Saudi managed to arrest the suspect at about 11am yesterday at Kampung Muhibbah Beluru Bakong Jalan Beluru / Long Lama and seized the blue-coloured canopy from the male suspect aged 24.
He was arrested at Beluru Bazaar Bakong Baram. He is now remanded for further investigation under Section 457 of the Penal Code.
