KUCHING: A driver managed to escape without injuries after her car skidded and flipped onto the steps of a temple yesterday (Oct 19).
The accident occurred at around 12.30 pm near Wisma Saberkas, at the junction of Jalan Tun Haji Openg and Jalan Maxwell here.
It is believed that the woman struggled to control her vehicle along the wet road while navigating a curve.
The sudden loss of control sent the car crashing into the temple’s steps, causing it to land on its roof.
Despite the harrowing ordeal, she managed to exit the car safely and escaped the crash unscathed.
Bystanders rushed to her aid and offered assistance in the aftermath of the accident.
Fortunately, the temple structure itself remained undamaged and only the steps were affected.
