KOTA SAMARAHAN: A housewife has been detained to assist in investigation into the alleged murder of her husband on Monday.
Kota Samarahan OCPD DSP Sudirman Kram said received information from the Sarawak General Hospital (SGH) on the death of a man who was taken to hospital for treatment.
“According to a preliminary investigation, at around 10.30pm the 28-year-old victim had an argument with his wife at their residence at Penrissen Camp.
“Following the argument, the wife grabbed a vegetable knife and stabbed her husband in his left thigh.
“The victim, who lost a lot of blood, was rushed to SGH for immediate treatment by the wife. However, the hospital confirmed that the victim had died,” he said.
A police team went to the hospital and arrested the 24-year-old wife around 2.25am.
Sudirman said the knife and her clothes were seized as evidence.
He said the suspect would be placed in the Kota Samarahan police lock-up to facilitate an investigation under Section 302 of the Penal Code.
