MIRI: A woman died on the spot while three others were injured in a two-vehicle collision along Jalan Airport here this morning.
A spokesman for the Fire and Rescue Department (Bomba) said the deceased is identified as 56-year-old Lua Ukam.
The accident, involving a Perodua Bezza and Toyota Hilux, happened around 2 am and firemen from Miri station were deployed to the scene.
One of the victims was trapped in the back seat of the car and the Bomba personnel carried out extrication works to free her.
However, the victim was pronounced dead at the scene by paramedics and her body was handed over to the police to be taken to the mortuary.
The driver of the car sustained injuries to his right leg and right hand while, the front seat passenger of the car and pickup truck driver sustained light injuries.
