SIBU: A total fund allocation under the Minor Rural Project (MRP) totaling RM320,000 have been disseminated to 15 organisations and associations in Sibu yesterday (Nov 7).

The recipients of the funds were Tieng Ang Methodist Church, Wong Nai Siong Secondary School Board, Guang Ning Association Sibu, Hindu Temple Association Sibu, Chiang Hsia Huang Clan Association of Central Sarawak, Foochow Hok Lin Sibu, and the Lin Clan Associations of the 3rd, 6th, and 7th Divisions.

Also receiving the funds were the Village Development and Security Committees (JKKK) of Ensurai Sibu, Sebrang Ensurai / Kunyit Tanjung Pan Sibu, Sungai Empawah Sibu, Rh Bujang Sungai Passai, Sungai Bidut Telok Bango Bukit Igu Sibu, Sungai Maaw Sibu, Bukit Lan Sibu, and the Sungai Empawah Neighbourhood Committee.

The cheque presentation ceremony was officiated by Bawang Assan assemblyman Datuk Seri Wong Soon Koh at the Progressive Democratic Party (PDP) Bawang Assan service centre.

“As an elected representative I will do my best to ensure that the funds are distributed correctly and given to those who qualified.”

“Those who are eligible but have not received the funds this year will have the opportunity to receive them next year,” said Wong who is also the Senior Vice President of the PDP.

Also present at the event were the Political Secretary to the Premier of Sarawak Joshua Ting, the Chairman of PDP Bawang Assan Wong Hua, and Wong’s personal assistant Sean Wong.
