KUCHING: The film premiere of “Wonka” at Golden Screen Cinemas (GSC), The Spring, was attended by 100 people on Tuesday evening (Dec 5).
Before the premiere, the audience was treated to goodies filled with delicious candies, Wonka stickers, a box of mini popcorn, and sweet beverages.
The venue was adorned with Wonka-themed decorations, setting the stage for a night of fantasy and wonder.
The air was filled with the aroma of chocolate, enhancing the immersive experience and creating a multisensory adventure for moviegoers.
The audience also engaged in a mini quiz, where the Wonka mascot asked trivia questions about the movie.
Directed by Paul King, the Wonka film, shrouded in secrecy leading up to the premiere, proved to be a visual spectacle.
It brought Ronald Dahl’s beloved characters to life in a way that mesmerised audiences of all ages. Every detail, from the whimsical chocolate factory to the quirky characters, was meticulously crafted to transport viewers into Wonka’s extraordinary world.
As the credits rolled and the lights came up, applause and cheers filled the GSC auditorium. The Wonka film successfully captured the hearts of the audience, leaving them with a sense of nostalgia and a renewed appreciation for the magic of cinema.
Starring Timothee Chalamet in the title role and featuring an ensemble cast, including Hugh Grant, Rowan Atkinson, Olivia Colman, Keegan-Michael Key, Tom Davis, and newcomer Calah Lane, “Wonka” will be in theatres across Malaysia starting Dec 7.
