MIRI: A plywood factory fire at Batu 5 Kuala Baram here destroyed a wood cutting machine on Monday (April 11).
Fortunately, swift action by several of the workers to put out the blaze with fire extinguishers prevented it from spreading to other parts of the premises.
Also destroyed was a pile of wood.
No injuries were reported.
According to Fire and Rescue Department (Bomba) Miri acting chief Supt Ahmad Nizam Sapaiee, firefighters from the Lopeng fire station led by PBK II Mohd Fairuz were deployed to the scene after they were alerted of the fire at 8.30pm.
