KUCHING: Youths must strive to work in tandem with the development strategies of the state government to ensure that Sarawak achieves developed status by 2030.
Local Government and Housing Minister Datuk Seri Dr Sim Kui Hian said this is because the youth play an important role in determining the future of Sarawak.
“Our Chief Minister Datuk Patinggi Abang Johari Tun Openg has planned well for Sarawak to be a developed state by 2030. Hence it is critical that the youth follow through the plan to ensure its success,” he said when met during an event at Batu Kawa Unity Hall, today.
Dr Sim believed that Sarawak have a bright future and could become the richest and most developed state by 2025.
He also said the youth must be prepared to defend the harmony and unity prevailing in the state.
“We don’t want to end up like the United States where there is no harmony to a point that people die for no reason,” he added.
