SIBU: The newly minted Sarawak United People’s Party (SUPP) Bawang Assan chairman, Cr Kevin Lau Kor Jie yesterday inspected the clearing of the drains at Rantau Panjang here.
With him were Cr Yong Ing Hock and longhouse chief News Janggu; the work was being done by the Drainage & Irrigation Department (DID) Sibu.
“The drain clearing was previously requested by Cr Johnny Ganning and Cr James Kusau of Sibu Rural District Council (SRDC) following feedback from the local residents.
“We are glad that work on the project has now begun and waste water can be discharged more smoothly to the river outlet,” said Lau.
