LIMBANG: Earthworks and piling for the construction of the Limbang Integrated Administration Centre (IAC) are underway.

Deputy Chief Minister Datuk Amar Awang Tengah Ali Hasan said this project is an iconic one in Limbang Division, which will house 16 government agencies.

They include the Limbang Division Resident Office, District Office, Public Works Department (JKR) and Land and Survey Department (JTS).

“The progress has been slightly delayed by about two per cent and the contractors are confident that they will be able to expedite this project, especially in terms of piling once the ordered piles arrive shortly,” he said at a press conference after visiting the Limbang IAC project site on Monday (Feb 7).

Awang Tengah, who is also Second Minister of Natural Resources and Urban Development, said the expected timeframe for the project’s completion had been rescheduled and it is now expected to be completed by Sept 17 next year.

“I hope this project will be completed according to the set schedule. For now, they do not face any issues in terms of manpower.

“However, they have made plans to determine when the works will be increased and at the same time, they have also made plans to arrange the necessary workers,” said Awang Tengah said.

The location of Limbang IAC is seven kilometres or a 10-minute drive from Limbang centre, which is close to Limbang Airport, Rangau housing, and Sungai Limbang.
