DALAT: Construction work to erect new buildings for Sekolah Kebangsaan (SK) Kampung Tanam here has begun a few days ago.
This is certainly good news for people in Kampung Tanam, which is the second largest village in this district, after Kampung Medong.
A source familiar with the matter said the work began with site clearing for the proposed project.
The new site is on the other side of Jalan Oya-Dalat, in front of the existing SK Kampung Tanam.
The old wooden school building is located at the bank of Batang Oya.
Welfare, Community Wellbeing, Women, Family and Childhood Development Minister Datuk Seri Fatimah Abdullah was well aware of the need for new buildings for the aging SK Kampung Tanam.
Fatimah, who is also Dalat assemblywoman, has provided updates on the proposed project to the constituents, although it is a federal matter.
