MIRI: Lambir assemblyman Ripin Lamat urged the people of Sarawak to always work together to fight the Covid-19 pandemic.

He said this while officiating at the Miri District level Merdeka@Community programme here yesterday (July 23).

He added that the people must always maintain good personal hygiene to prevent the spread of the virus.

He reminded the public to not easily believe fake news spread by irresponsible groups.

He also called for more caution and adherence to the standard operating procedures (SOPs) set by the government to avoid the risk of infection.

Besides this, Ripin expressed his appreciation for the Information Department’s (JaPen) initiative to hold such a programme which also complied with the SOP during the recovery movement control order (RMCO).

Meanwhile, JaPen Sarawak deputy director Aziz Abdul Rahman in his speech urged all Malaysians to celebrate National Month despite being in a different atmosphere compared to previous years as the nation is still under the RMCO.
