LUNDU: An Indonesian male worker died in an accident while testing a new tractor at a farm in Sungai Belian here on Monday (July 13).
The victim identified as Syaiful Nizam Munri, 34, was said to be testing a tractor on a hilly area at the farm.
Sarawak Traffic Investigation Enforcement chief Supt Alexson Naga Chabu said the calamity occurred around 1.30pm.
It is believed that the tractor went out of control thereby causing the victim to fall off it and hit a rock.
“As a result of this incident, the victim suffered severe head injuries and was sent to Sarawak General Hospital (SGH) by his employer for further treatment.
“However, the victim succumbed to his injuries at around 2.47pm,” he said in a statement.
The victim’s body was then sent to the SGH Forensic Medical Department for further actions.
The case is being investigated under Section 41 (1) of the Road Transport Act 1987.
