KUCHING: A man was fined RM1,000 or sentenced to two months in prison by the Magistrates’ Court here today for punching his colleague’s face out of dissatisfaction with his colleague always being assigned work by their employer.
Achin Piul, 51, pleaded guilty to the charge under Section 323 of the Penal Code, which was read in the language interpreter’s presence before Magistrate Mason Jaro Lenya Barayan.
According to the charge, he intentionally caused injury to the 40-year-old male victim at Lorong Jambu 3, around 9 am on July 24.
In the facts of the case, the victim, along with three of his neighbours, was in a car when the accused approached and punched the right side of the victim’s face.
As a result of the incident, the victim suffered pain in the right cheek and experienced trauma.
The reason for the incident was that the accused was dissatisfied with the victim as their employer always assigned work to the victim.
Fearing for his safety, the victim lodged a police report for further action.
As a result of the investigation, the accused had struck the victim’s face, causing him injury and pain.
The prosecution of the case was conducted by Inspector Merylene Lindan Andrew Mang, while the accused was not represented by a lawyer.
