The mess in one of the rooms after it was ransacked by thieves looking for valuables.

MIRI: A worker of an oil and gas company lost more than RM5,000 after his rented house in Pujut here was broken into on Wednesday afternoon.

The man in his 30s discovered the break-in when he arrived home at around 12.30pm and found the front door had been forced open.

“The victim immediately went into the house and was surprised to see the living room and all the bedrooms in a mess.

“While checking his belongings, the victim found several items including a laptop, a digital camera, a mobile phone and a sum of cash were missing,” said sources.
Following the incident, the victim lodged a report at Miri Central Police Station.
