MIRI: A fire razed a two-door workers’ quarters in an estate at Suai, Niah yesterday, leaving eight Indonesian workers homeless.
According to Miri Fire and Rescue Department (Bomba) chief Supt Law Poh Kiong, eight firemen were deployed to the scene located at Kampung Madinah Jalan Miri-Bintulu in response to an alert on the incident around 4.50am.
The Batu Niah fire volunteers squad was also present to help put out the fire.
“Upon the firefighters’ arrival, the fire has already gutted the quarters,” said Law.
No casualties were reported and the cause of the fire is being investigated.
