KUCHING: A Rabies Management Workshop for the Community with residents of the Batu Kawa area was held at the Unimas City Campus on Sunday.
It was aimed at increasing community awareness about the means of transmission, symptoms and preventive measures that can be taken on rabies.
The workshop was organised by the Kuching Divisional Health Office.
Among the speakers were Professor Dr. Razitasham Safii, from the Unimas Faculty of Medicine and Health Sciences, Dr. Majorie Ensayan Junting, Epidemiological Officer of the Kuching Divisional Health Office, Dr. Nicholas Jenek, Deputy Director of the Sarawak Veterinary Department, Sumi Linggi, Assistant Environmental Health Officer from the Padawan Municipal Council, and Datin Dona Drury Wee, President of the Sarawak Society for the Prevention of Cruelty to Animals (SSPCA).
The closing ceremony was done by Kuching Divisional Health Officer, Dr. Johnny Trim. Also present was Kuching District Officer, Sofhi Jebal.
