KUCHING: The two-day Sarawak Disaster Management and Operation Coordination Workshop, which ended yesterday, was for all the staff and officers of agencies involved in assisting disaster victims.
In a statement by Deputy Premier Datuk Seri Dr Sim Kui Hian said in a statement that the workshop was also part of the preparation for the agencies under the Sarawak Disaster Management Committee (SDMC) in facing the upcoming northeast monsoon.
“This workshop, organised by National Disaster Management Agency Malaysia (NADMA) in collaboration with SCMC, involves 125 officers from the secretariat and agencies under the SDMC.
“SDMC would like to thank NADMA for allocating 70 boats for distribution to various division in the state in order to face the upcoming monsoon season,” he said.
Dr Sim also hoped that NADMA would continue to provide more assistance and additional allocation for Sarawak from time to time for the wellbeing of the people in the state.
