KOTA SAMARAHAN: An engagement between Universiti Malaysia Sarawak (Unimas) and World Bank was held at the university’s Faculty of Economics and Business, here yesterday.
The faculty’s dean Associate Professor Michael Tinggi chaired the meeting. Delegates from the World Bank comprised Dr Richard Record (Lead Economist), Dr Kenneth Simler (Senior Economist), G Jeevakumar (Public Sector Management Specialist), Chong Yew Keat (Economist) and Dr Amanina Abdur Rahman (World Bank Consultant).
The engagement was for knowledge sharing between the delegates and academics and students to explore potential collaboration in the areas of research, academic and staff engagement.
In its multi-faceted role, which focuses on improving education, health, and infrastructure, the World Bank often reaches out to disseminate its analytical work to a broader group of stakeholders including universities.
