KUCHING: Those who come under the essential services category and need an exemption letter that explains that they are required to work after the 7pm curfew starting today (Mar 24) can write in to the State Disaster Management Committee (SDMC).
Chief Minister Datuk Patinggi Abang Johari Tun Openg said this applied to journalists and newspaper printing factories.
He said respective companies could also prepare the letter but should any problem arise, they could write in to the SDMC.
“For printing, there should not be any problem because you are exempted. But if you have any problem, just inform the committee because you are operating 24 hours,” he said when asked by reporters whether printing companies could operate after the 7pm curfew.
Meanwhile, Deputy Chief Minister Datuk Amar Douglas Uggah Embas said SDMC would issue the exemption letter and notify the police.
“Those who need to send food and vegetables to the markets also need the letter,” he said.
He said application could be made at the secretariat at Wisma Bapa Malaysia on the ground floor and the letter would be issued based on the reasons given.
