KUCHING: St Margaret’s Church Stampin has received a significant boost for its new church building project with an additional allocation of RM1.01 million.

Kota Sentosa assemblyman Wilfred Yap presented a RM10,000 contribution from his Minor Rural Project (MRP) grant and a RM1 million cheque from the Unit for Other Religions (UNIFOR) to the church recently.

“The total construction cost for the new church building is RM4.23 million, and it is currently 40% complete,” Yap said during the church’s Pastoral Day and fundraising dinner.

“We are fortunate to have UNIFOR, unlike other states in Malaysia. It plays a crucial role in promoting unity and understanding among different faiths.

“While we have achieved much, we must not become complacent. We should continue to strengthen our unity and build on our successes,” he added.
