KUCHING: Sarawak United People’s Party (SUPP) Public Complaints Bureau (SUPP PCB) chief, Wilfred Yap and the party members recently visited a man residing at BDC Resettlement Scheme here to inform him that SOCSO has approved his medical compensation of RM29,979.84 and invalidity pension of RM16.32 per day.

The man’s wife had in December last year asked for assistance on the status of her husband’s application for financial assistance in the form of medical compensation and invalidity pension from SOCSO (Social Security Organisation) or PERKESO (Pertubuhan Keselamatan Sosial).

The man was involved in a hit and run accident resulting in him being paralysed from the waist down and is unable to provide for his family’s needs as he cannot work anymore.

Since many people are unfamiliar with SOCSO, SUPP PCB would like to inform the general public that SOCSO was incorporated by the government to provide assistance both medically and financially to employees who have had their abilities reduced or incapacitated due to accidents or diseases.
