KUCHING: The suspension of the Malaysia Islamic Economic Development Foundation (YapEIM) director-general Datuk Abibullah Samsudin has been extended until further notice.
This was announced by a member of its board of trustees, Dr Rosli Yaakop when met by reporters after launching new Ar-Rahnu products here yesterday.
Rosli said the suspension was to facilitate its on-going investigation procedure.
“What I can share is how we deal with such issue related to our staff, we aim to pursue in transparent manner and must be taken with due process,” he said when pressed by reporters on the issue.
Abidullah had courted controversy when a viralled video showed him urging his staff to not vote for Pakatan Harapan during GE14 last year.
In the short clip, it was seen Abibullah saying “those who vote for Pakatan Harapan are not fit to work with YapEIM”.
Abibullah’s suspension was originally supposed to end on July 12.
