Yayasan Ikhlas donates 12,500 protective suits

KUCHING: A total of 12,500 donated personal protective equipment (PPE) suits were handed over by Yayasan Ikhlas to the State Disaster Management Committee (SDMC) at the Old State Legislative Assembly (DUN) Building on Monday (Sept 21).

The suits were received by Minister of Housing and Local Government, Datuk Seri Dr Sim Kui Hian on behalf of SDMC.

Yayasan Ikhlas is a welfare body established under the Trustees (Incorporation) Act 1952 on March 5, 2009.

There are three strategic clusters that underlie all the activities of Yayasan Ikhlas, namely, Education Cluster, Community Cluster and Disaster Cluster.

In helping the government to deal with the Covid-19 epidemic, Bank Pembangunan Malaysia Berhad (BPMB) has generously sponsored the entire cost of producing 17,500 PPE suits which are the results of ideas and production for PPE suits by Yayasan Ikhlas.

A total of 5,000 sets were submitted to the Sabah Health Department while another 12,500 were submitted to the Sarawak Disaster Management Committee (SDMC).

Also present during the handover were assistant director of the Safety and Enforcement Unit Sarawak, Daud Jailani; sponsors from Bank Pembangunan Malaysia Berhad and Ustaz Mohamad Salihin Deris, group head of shariah management of Bank Pembangunan
