KUCHING: Applications for the Residential Rental Assistance Scheme or Sarawak Rental Assistance Scheme (SRAS) are open to those currently renting in Kuching, Sibu, Bintulu and Miri.
Sarawak Housing Development Corporation (HDC) chief executive officer Mohamad Asman Ahmad said the SRAS was a rental assistance scheme of RM200 per month, for 36 months or three years’ maximum, as announced by Chief Minister Datuk Patinggi Abang Johari Tun Openg in the Sarawak State Budget 2021 in November last year.
The scheme is expected to benefit about 20,000 eligible households, especially the low-income group and those affected by the Covid-19 pandemic.
