KUCHING: In today’s fast-paced work environment, young employees are increasing turning to artificial intelligence (AI) to boost productivity and streamline their tasks.

Popular AI apps or tools such as ChatGPT, Generative Fill in Photoshop, ChatGPT, Notion AI and more are reshaping workflows across various industries, providing faster solutions and easing workload especially for the younger working generations.

Despite the advantages these AI applications bring, they are not without their flaws.

As the youngest person in a company located at Samalaju industrial area Richie Romeion, a 23-year-old project executive who recently started working few months ago, said that he primarily relies on ChatGPT and Notion AI in his workplace.

“These tool works as personal assistants for me. These apps absolutely helps making my task easier.

“They help keep track of everything I need to monitor, from project deadlines to important meetings. I rely on them to remind me of crucial details, ensuring I stay on top of my responsibilities and so far, I haven’t encountered any significant challenges while using these AI tools.

“One of the main benefits is that whenever I forget certain details or need to refresh my memory on specific projects, I can quickly consult these AI tools to get the information I need without wasting time searching through documents,” he said.

Aidatul Asma Mohd Hasbullah, a 24-year-old junior architect, frequently uses Prome AI for image generation in her work.

“Since I’m involved in the art and design industry, Prome AI usually helps me generate graphics for my documentation and presentations.

“I find it efficient in terms of creating visuals that suit specific themes and data insights. It saves time and speeds up my work compared to designing manually.

“However, I would say AI can only help spark and trigger our ideas, it doesn’t do the whole thing,” she said.

She said despite using it to generate visuals, the downside of Prome AI makes her less reliant on detailed visualisations.

“For example, if I want to show a detailed layout of a house, Prome AI might misinterpret the design, leading to missing elements, like the layout might look nice, but it could lack stairs or doors, or maybe there’s just a solid wall where there should be a pathway between rooms.

“Additionally, I feel that if I rely too much on AI, the designs lose their genuine originality and identity because AI primarily relies on data patterns, which often lack a deep understanding of a brand’s identity or evolving visual language.

“This limits our ideas since AI also struggles to replicate our concepts. The main issue is that AI is emotionless and has zero empathy, which is crucial in the design process,” she said.

Mohammad Firdaus Bohari, a 21-year-old working as a food delivery under Foodpanda Malaysia, also relies heavily on ChatGPT in his daily operations.

“I use ChatGPT to assist with customer inquiries and streamline communication as it helps me craft responses quickly and efficiently, which is crucial in a fast-paced environment like food delivery,” he said.

He also remains vigilant about the accuracy of the information it provides, as AI can sometimes produce responses that require further verification.

“Whenever I need to respond to customer feedback or inquiries, I can use ChatGPT to create a well-structured reply in no time,” he said.
