KUCHING: FRESH contents showcased by Sarawak Timber & SMEs Expo 2019 will include the First Sarawak Design Conference and Expo organised by the Sarawak Timber Development Corporation (STIDC), University Malaysia Sarawak (Unimas) and Institut Teknologi Bandung, Indonesa.
“STIDC aims to push forward in transforming young designers of Sarawak to excel in the industry. There are six keynote speakers during the conference and among them is a Malaysian designer, Ian Howard Davies,” Entrepreneur and Small-Medium Enterprise (SME) Development Assistant Minister Datuk Naroden Majais told a press conference here yesterday.
Admission is free but the participants need to register with STIDC first. The theme is ‘Bring Design to Our Home’.
“I encourage the public, especially young entrepreneurs, to attend this expo at Borneo Convention Centre Kuching (BCCK) from June 27 to 30 to see what Sarawak has in store.
“Perhaps the expo would encourage them to further expand their business, concept, designs and innovate ideas and products,” said Naroden.
Also present at the press conference were STIDC deputy general manager Dayang Nena Abang Bruce and Unimas Institute of Creative Arts and Technology director Prof Madya Dr Hasnizam Abdul Wahab.
