KUCHING: Voters, especially the younger generation, are reminded to exercise their rights in the 15th general election (GE15).

“Young voters in particular, please go out and vote and fulfil your duty, because this is our right as a citizen,” said political analyst Dr Lucy Sebli Seidelson of Universiti Malaysia Sarawak on Today (Nov 16).

“When we don’t vote, should the candidate that we do not support be appointed as the people’s representative, there will be complaints and what not.”

Lucy stressed that the best way to ensure change is to vote. “Things will not change if we do not take any action, and the first step is to vote.

“Elect the people’s representative who can bring development and who can protect the interests of the people,” she added.

On another note, she reminded those going back to their respective hometowns to cast their votes to be careful during the journey.

“Even though our roads are in good condition but it’s the monsoon season and this is quite worrying. I hope everyone reaches their destinations safely.”
