KUCHING: A jobless young man suffered critical injuries after his left arm and his right knee cap were slashed during a weekend clash between two groups of people in front of a pub at Jalan Setia Raja, Stutong.
The 19-year-old and his friends were walking out of the club lounge when they were set upon by a group of youths at 3.30am on Sunday.
The man and his friends fled but he was slashed with a blunt object.
After he fainted on the grass verge outside, the assailants ran away. The victim’s friends returned and called an ambulance while attending to the him. He was later sent to a private hospital.
It was not known what the motive for the fight was and Kuching police were unwilling to comment.
The suspects have not been arrested yet and it is believed that they were all teenagers.
