MIRI: An accident in Jalan Kuala Baram bypass here claimed the life of an 18-year-old youth.
He had crashed into a tree near a petrol station, and “the victim was pronounced dead at the scene by paramedics,” said Miri OCPD ACP Alexson Naga Chabu.
He added that police received a report on the incident at 2.43am, Tuesday (July 26). “The victim was the only person in the vehicle at the time of the crash.”
Firefighters were also on hand to extricate the victim from the badly damaged car.
The case is being investigated under Section 41 (1) of the Road Transport Act, 1987.
