Youth lodges police report over colleague’s mischief

KUCHING: A shop assistant aged 20 lodged a police report after he was worried about his colleague for taking a shirt from a store.

The youth said last Sunday in a departmental store at Jalan Sultan Tengah here at about 9am, his colleague from another department went to his apparel section to try out a shirt. He said he thought that his colleague wanted to buy the shirt.

However, after trying out the shirt, his colleague did not want to buy and continued to wear the shirt for lunch.

Worried that he will be accused of stealing the shirt, he decided to lodge a police report after he kept asking his colleague to take off the shirt but the latter refused.

In another case, a 50-year-old housewife was beaten by a man in her house on Tuesday.

The housewife from Semariang Lama, Petra Jaya said the man punched and kicked her at about 8pm on Tuesday.

Even after she fell, the beating continued. She added that some items in the house were also broken during the assault.

She said she lodged a police report after she could not tolerate the assault anymore and fearing for her safety.

Police are investigating both cases.
