BELAGA: The implementation of the Malaysia Agreement 1963 (MA63) will proceed in accordance with the current financial capabilities of the federal government.
Deputy Prime Minister Datuk Seri Ahmad Zahid Hamidi assured that Prime Minister Datuk Seri Anwar Ibrahim is committed to implementing the MA63 promptly.
“The primary concern is the connection, understanding and compatibility between Sabah, Sarawak, and the federal government,” he said.
He was speaking at a ‘Leaders with the People’ programme held at Rumah Brain Mering in Punan Ba here on Monday (July 1).
Zahid said that the leadership compatibility needed to be strengthened and maintained to ensure that it truly benefitted Sabah and Sarawak.
In other developments, he congratulated Sarawak for the timely progress on the Pan Borneo Highway project.
“Only two states in Malaysia have been given the privilege with the Pan Borneo project, and the implementation in Sarawak is progressing well,” he said.
