PUTRAJAYA: Former deputy prime minister Datuk Seri Dr Ahmad Zahid Hamidi has left the Malaysian Anti-Corruption Commission headquarters here after being quizzed for about eight hours yesterday.

The questioning is said to be to assist the agency’s probe into alleged misappropriation of funds belonging to a foundation.

Ahmad Zahid, who arrived at the MACC HQ at 9.20am, left the premises at 5.40pm.

When swarmed by local and foreign journalists, the UMNO president said: “I have to come again.”

About an hour before that, his daughter Datuk Nurulhidayah was seen leaving the MACC HQ but there were no signs of his step-brother Datuk Seri Mohamad Nasaee Ahmad Tarmizi, who was also seen entering the premises yesterday morning.

Ahmad Zahid in a Twitter post on Monday had said that he would give his full cooperation to MACC regarding the probe. The MACC had also recorded a statement from him on the same matter in July.
