KUCHING: The late Senate President Datuk Mutang Tagal has made many sacrifices for the community and the nation.
In stating this, Deputy Prime Minister Datuk Seri Dr Ahmad Zahid Hamidi said the deceased’s services, contributions, and sacrifice will always be remembered.
“This morning, we received sad news about the passing of a great national figure, Senator Datuk Mutang Tagal, the President of the Senate, who breathed his last at the National Heart Institute (IJN), Kuala Lumpur.
“I knew the late as a highly respected and beloved figure. Mutang was the 20th President of the Senate and was appointed in February 2024.
“Indeed, his passing is a great loss to the country,” he said in his Facebook post.
He also expressed his deepest condolences to the family of the Mutang.
“May all family members of the late Mutang be given strength during this difficult time,” said Zahid.
Mutang, 70, passed away at 11.46 am yesterday.
